Gertjan grabbed the opportunity of having a free flight of MAF plane as vision trip.He flew with our Canadian chief pilot, Tim Smith to the village called Nipsan. Seeing the work of MAF here in Papua Indonesia brings back memory of his time in Papua New Guinea as a Twin Otter pilot.
As you can see, hearing the music up there makes the Papuan folks run and eager to see the MAF plane flying and landing. So often MAF planes fetch the villagers and oftentimes bring food for them.
The family Tuit from the "Gereformeerd Kerk" of Holland served as first missionaries in this village. Currently, the daughter of "dominee Tuit" happens to come back to Papua where the husband is a pilot of MAF. Her name is Klazina Pap. The Paps family are stationed in Timika, Papua. Last vacation they were able to visit her childhood village once again.
These are beautiful Papuan children.
