Thanksgiving Day!!!

Thanksgiving day is a very special day for the Americans. As what I observed, members of the family all over the states will travel and come together in one place to celebrate it. The traditonal meals should have roasted turkey and mashed potatoes.

We felt so honored to be one of the invited guests of the Lain's family, our new Pastor in Coshocton Nazarene Church.

Birthdays

On Sept. 25th Gertjan and I went out for a dinner to celebrate his 36th birthday. It was nice to be away for just the two of us. Thanks to Donna Bupp for taking care of our kids that night. On our way home Amy and David Mozombite together with Paul Jones ( MMS fellows) surprised Gertjan with a birthday cake. The next day, we were invited for a supper by the Crouso's ,together with other MMS'ers family. Cindy Ketcham made a chocolate cheese cake for Gertjan as a suprise. We had fun.
On the 27th Sept. Johan celebrated his 5th birthday with some friends and wow he has a lot presents that Gertjan and I could play too.... fun ... fun.

We praised God that being a follower of Him is not that boring.. isn't it?

May the Lord will continue to bless these two people He created.

"Labor Day"

Today is Labor Day in America. Therefore, it is a holiday. It is a beautiful day too to be out to have some fun with family and friends.

While Ohio is experiencing the warm and beautiful weather New Orleans is in the “Eye of the Hurricane”. Louisiana state is even affected with the hurricane. It is a category 3 hurricane. Thought would be good to pray for them in the midst of this storm.

"Baton"

Have you seen the Olympic Games in Beijing in the television? I did! That was fun.
We all know that a baton has to be passed from one player to another, like a relay. The new Pastor in the church of the Nazarene refers in his preaching the " baton" as the Spirit of God to pass on to Elisha when Elijah was taken up in a chariot of fire. When Elisha asked Elijah the double portion of his Spirit. We thought that was a good message. I will not write the whole preaching though but he used the 2 Kings 2:1-15 as Text in his first preaching titled, "Transition".

Creation Museum

We all went together to the creation museum in Kentucky. It was a very nice day. The only thing was that we met a moving dynasaur and Johan and Gertjan were very scared!!

Kodiak

Gertjan and his brother Jeroen pose after having a ride in a Kodiak plane. Johan was enjoying the ride while Marielle fall into a sleep. Gertjan flew the plane for a short time when the pilot handed over the plane to him. That was great.
The Kodiak is a plane specially designed for missions. It has a turbine engine so it is not depending on AVGAS, the fuel that piston engines use. In most of the countries where mission aviation planes fly there is a shortage of AVGAS.
Johan was so happy to see his Uncle Jeroen visiting us while on his way to Canada for a three- week vacation.

God's work takes flight!

Coshocton Tribune, our local newspaper had published about the Kodiak. This country is so grateful to have the freedom of expression and freedom of religion because not all places and newspapers can publish and use such phrases. It is a no, no, to some countries.

Johan is showing off behind the controls of the Kodiak
Here is Dave Shelly fuelling the Kodiak from BP ( regular jet fuel) instead of aviation gas.

Visit In Wooster

We are visiting friends in Wooster. On the picture you see Tirzah
and her grandmother and cousin Elias. He is a very cute baby.

Johan and the other boys are playin Wii. That is a game and they do the sports. Johan enjoys the bowling.

Vakantie

Vandaag is mijn eerste dag vakantie.

Just visiting!

Today is quite a hot day in Coshocton. Many people go to a public swimming pool to cool themselves. For now we are ready to rub a suncreen on our skin to avoid sunburn especially for the kids.

I am here in MMS with the kids. Gertjan is busy placing a new shock absorbers in our car. This is his first time to do it by himself hope it would be a successful one.

Blessings to all.

Glenda

Onze eerste Posting

Onze personeelsmanager Keith is vandaag onze leraar.
