Philippines 2010!
We finally arrived in the second last leg of our flight.
Glenda for three years did not see her family. We thank you for all the prayers you made.
Here is our rented apartment in Cebu. It is a two-storey furnished apartment.

Pray for our safety and enjoying time in the Phils. It is very hot here and the kids and Gertjan experienced already a heat rash.
However, we were happy to be here seeing family of Glenda and church friends.

Singapore, its culture and people.

Well i cannot tell what is really the culture of the Singaporean people but only what i see. Here a photo of how they dry their laundry. Wet clothes are hang to dry out in the air place outside their windows in those high rises.
They have Pork jerky or called "bakua" which is marinated dried pork but sweet and yumy.
They love to it hot noodles and meat. Most of them has many spices and delicious.
We met like three families here and were invited for dinner!
Doulos ship in Singapore!

We arrived safely in Singapore. Thanks to all your prayers.
We took the opportunity to see the Doulos ship which is decommissioned in Singapore. The ship is almost a 100 years old and was not qualified to sail anymore. It needs a million of dollars to fix the ship. Since OM has nowhere to find this amount, they are looking for buyers.
It is quite sad to hear about this but we thought her worked is over.
We were excited to see once again the ship since Gertjan and I met here when the ship was on mission trip to Cebu , Philippines 2001.
So glad to see God's faithfulness over the years of our marriage and letting our children see the ship. We love the Doulos because of the people all over the world, believing, fellowship and worshipping together in one GOD!
vertrek naar Singapore!
Last Monday we leave Holland for Singapore. Two homefront committee, Sjon en Marit Sterk with Piet and Ella Eveleens are there together with Gertjan's parents to say goodbye. We had extra bag for overweight luggage since we are leaving again for the next three years.
We were afraid we have to pay heaps for it but when we approached Lufthanza manager, explaining that we are working with MAF for Indonesia, he understand it and he allowed all of our luggage to check in. Praise God for it.
