Our gardener comes every Monday to trim, rake and clean our yard.
Glenda always gives him morning snacks such as cakes, cookies and etc. But this time, Glenda gave him a fruit instead of those western sweets. She asked Marielle to give the pear to Pak Romias.
Here is the ff. conversations:
Glenda: Marielle, could you please give this pear to Pak Romias for his snack?
Marielle: Okay... bapak.. bapak..
Pak Romias: oh oh, terima kasih ( thank you!)
Glenda ( shouting from a distance) : Itu buah Pak.. ( thats a fruit Pak Romias)
..SO he got the pear and then....
Marielle: Maam, Pak Romias throw the fruit away on the ground.
Glenda: What?... then I asked Pak Romias.. Pak did you throw the fruit away?
Pak Romias: ya, apa itu? what is this?
Glenda : oh no, pak itu makanan kecil kamu.. itu buah dari keluar negeri. This is your snack. A pear from Korea.
Pak Romias: oh oh maaf... saya tidak tahu!
He grinned and picked it up from the ground and it eat!
Things to know: Pak Romias must have heard buang which means to throw. But Glenda said, buah which means a fruit.
Well, that was a good laugh!
