Furlough in the Netherlands!

This is the flag of the Royal Kingdom of the Netherlands.  There is an orange color in here for it is our Queen's Day!

Marit made us a yummy welcome cake when we came in Holland.  Marit is our home front committee as well as Gertjan's sister.



We looked as if we weren't had any jetlog at this photo. Because we were so glad to be home again from the two year's field assignment and long flights.



This was our first trip to see a bit of beautiful nature in Holland.

We visited the "Keukenhof" !

In a big wooden shoe ( clog) of the keukenhof. We were pretending that

we were in a small boat.

Onze Kerk in Papua!

Pondok Kemuliaan is onze kerk in Sentani, Papua!
De kerk gangers komen uit van verschillende stamen. 
Na de dienst kopen mensen wat eten of snacks voor onderweg!

Meeting up with pre-field families

While in Jakarta, we catched up with the Perez's family and the Lundholms.  We also had a chance to meet with our language school teacher, mbak Eirene. Thanks to Corrinne Koens for being there to fellowship with us.  We hope to see the two families soon in Papua.  Pray for them as they are finishing their language training soon.

Celebrating the 10th Wedding Anniversary!

"He makes everything beautiful in His time"  Eccl. 3:11a, was our Bible verse on our wedding day!
Time had passed so fast, we saw and still see God's faithfulness in our marriage. It's not always bed of roses but we worked thru it's challenges with Prayer as the years go by! Shall we say, God is always with us and is good all the time.
While in Grand Indonesia, Jakarta, we celebrated our anniversary with the children in "Marche" (marsh-yee) restaurant. It was a wonderful dinner and fun for all of us.  That morning the kids and I gave Gertjan a tool made of dark chocolate.
Thanks to our colleague who shared that idea!

Bijbel studie

Elke dinsdag, Glenda heeft bijbel studie met andere vrouwen van JAARS en MAF.

De bijbel studie is noemd, " Discover the WOnder of the FATHER". Op deze foto, was het eind van hun vergadering. Toen ze zou willen een beetje speciaale avond doen in het nieuwe hotel in Sentani.

Hier is Dion, Natalie, Melinda, Glenda en Linda ( die is naar USA).

Fire Drill for MAF workers!

Gertjan gave a training to the MAF Karyawan ( Indonesian workers) on how to handle a fire extinguisher. He showed a power point on how-to's followed by the practical training.
Ibu Lisa, the head of MAF Flight department, also joined and did it! It was a first time experience for the most of them including me ( Glenda :=)!

Each of them has to perform the drill.

At first they burned papers with the use of used fuel

and other substances that could ignite.

Later on they just used the fuel.
